“We don’t rise to the standards we have when others are watching. We fall to the standards we have when no one is watching. The only work that really matters is the work that no one sees. It shows you who you really are rather than who you say you are.”
Most of what we build ends up underground, where no one will ever see it. We do it right anyway.
Why do we do it? Because access to clean, safe public utilities is essential to protecting public health and safety.
If it’s underground
We’re the contractor to take care of it
Gas, electric, water, sewer, telecom conduit. It doesn’t matter what the system is. Power lines may run overhead, but a lot of what feeds a grid is buried: street lighting feeds, underground distribution and the big underground projects coming down the line. That’s our work.
Capabilities
Underground utilities
Water, sewer, gas and electric installs, repairs and replacements, including gas and water main replacement and underground electric circuits, from mark-out to restoration. Underground utilities →
HDPE electrofusion
Electrofusion and butt fusion welding of HDPE pipe for water, sewer force main and gas.
Excavating & trenching
Utility trenching and excavation for water, sewer, gas, electric and drainage work, including trenching for selective undergrounding. Excavating →
Stormwater & drainage
Underground detention, seepage tanks and drainage systems. Stormwater →
24/7 emergency response
Emergency excavation and utility repair, day or night. Emergency services →
Blacktop, concrete & lawn restoration
We put it back when the utility work is done: blacktop, concrete and lawn restoration. Paving →
Our own trucks
Tri-axle trucking under our own USDOT number, 6415867, to move spoil and material without waiting on a third party.
Mission critical
Work that can’t fail
Utility systems keep people safe, warm and supplied. When a line is live, a service is out, or a schedule is tied to an outage window, there’s no room for a crew that’s learning on the job. We plan the work, call New Jersey One Call before we dig, and show up with operators who know the equipment.
We’re a union signatory contractor under the Operating Engineers Local 825 collective bargaining agreement. The union advantage →
Safety culture
Everyone goes home
Safety isn’t a binder on a shelf. It’s how our crews work every day, for our own team members, for the public walking past the job, and for everyone living and working around our sites. On utility work that means respecting the marks, protecting the trench, and keeping traffic and pedestrians clear of the work zone.
Who we work for
- Gas transmission & distribution owners
- Electric transmission & distribution owners
- Water & sewer authorities and utilities
- Municipal water authorities
- Pipeline operators
- Owner’s reps
- Utility program & construction managers
- EPC and prime contractors
- Companies that manage utility systems
Erosion & rights-of-way
Erosion control along your right-of-way
Utility corridors run along shorelines, streams and slopes, and erosion doesn’t wait. We handle erosion control and restoration along rights-of-way, including shoreline erosion, so access stays open and your assets stay covered.
Specialty work
The jobs other contractors pass on
Tight access, odd scopes, work around live systems, jobs that don’t fit a standard bid. We’ll take a look at the work other contractors don’t want and build a plan around it.
- Work near and under train tracks
- River crossings
- Highway crossings
- Work inside rights-of-way
- Jobs where the logistics are difficult
You get a subcontractor that can actually perform mission critical infrastructure support, not one that backs out when the job gets hard.
28th Annual NJBPU SDC Conference
Built for New Jersey’s utility capital programs
At the 28th Annual NJBPU SDC Conference, “Building New Jersey’s Future Together: Advancing Infrastructure, Affordability, and Supplier Opportunity,” New Jersey’s utilities laid out the work coming down the line. A lot of it is underground. Here’s the work, in the owners’ own words, and the work we do for it.
Electric undergrounding
Selective undergrounding and underground circuit exits
Rockland Electric’s NJ Infrastructure Investment plan targets $47.8M for 2027–2031, including $33.6M of Selective Undergrounding: 9,300 ft in West Milford, 4,500 ft in Upper Saddle River, 2,000 ft in Mahwah and 5,500 ft in Ringwood. The Franklin Lakes Substation & HV Distribution Line Upgrades add a new 138 kV substation with ten underground circuit exits and a proposed underground line from South Mahwah to Franklin Lakes, with bid timing of Q4 2026.
We bring utility trenching, excavation and restoration in Bergen and Passaic towns.

Water & PFAS
PFAS treatment site improvements and main replacement
New Jersey American Water described roughly 29 planned PFAS projects worth $1B–$1.5B, and listed upcoming opportunities including PFAS treatment facilities and related site improvements, transmission & distribution main replacement and wastewater collection-system work. NJ firms may bid as prime, subcontractor or teaming partner.
We bring site work, main replacement, HDPE fusion and restoration.

Gas main replacement
Infrastructure Investment Program (IIP) and restoration
South Jersey Gas outlined a $200M, 5-year IIP replacing about 250 miles of pre-code coated steel and vintage plastic main, and named its needs: utility contractors, traffic control, welders and restoration contractors. Elizabethtown Gas outlined a $520M, 8.5-year IIP covering about 375 miles of cast iron, bare steel, ductile iron, copper and vintage plastic main, with the same contractor needs.
For gas main replacement, we bring excavation, trenching and blacktop, concrete and lawn restoration.

PSE&G and JCP&L
Construction services for New Jersey’s largest systems
PSE&G presented a regulated 5-year capital plan of $22.5B–$25.5B for 2026–2030, with construction services among the categories it’s seeking, and 2025 New Jersey spend of $2.41B with 872 NJ suppliers. JCP&L listed construction, substation line/projects and traffic protection/flagging among its supplier categories, and reported diverse NJ-based suppliers at 21.9% of total spend in 2025.
We bring the underground construction, excavation and restoration their construction programs call for.

Prime contractors
A New Jersey small business sub for utility primes
The conference honored Ferreira Construction Co., Inc. as Supplier of the Year and Burns & McDonnell with the Strategic Partner award. For primes and EPCs carrying utility programs, we perform the underground, site work and restoration scopes as a New Jersey certified SBE and IUOE Local 825 signatory contractor.
